At Push Interactions, we recently passed what I consider an important milestone. Across all of our apps, we now have over 500,000 downloads. Half a million! Some of our apps are quite large in terms of downloads and have over 100,000 downloads on their own, while others target a smaller niche market where the number of downloads was never an important consideration. But big or small, these apps have collectively touched over 500,000 people, and we feel a great sense of pride at this accomplishment.
It reminds me of what someone said in the early days of our company – that anyone who works here is going to have a special experience relative to other software companies, because the software they create will positively impact real people in the real world. There are many software engineering jobs where code is written but nobody except a very small number of individuals ever uses it. There’s also many places where projects never finish or even see the light of day.
I can remember projects from my time at Apple where large teams toiled on projects for months, but they never ended up being released. At Push, virtually all the code we write will see daylight and we hope it will positively impact people and improve their quality of life.
500,000 downloads is a big milestone and we will continue working to touch even more people’s lives in the future. That is why we are pushing for growth in new ways, like our recent partnership with TomTom.
We will continue to grow with our user base and keep doing our best to improve quality of life through quality technology.
